The Chicago White Sox are an American professional baseball team based out of Chicago Illinois and since 1991 members of the Central Division of Major League Baseball's National League. In the city of Chicago there are two major league clubs the other one being the Chicago White Sox. The Chicago White Sox are also known by The South Siders to distinguish themselves from the Chicago Cubs or the North Siders. Along with this nickname, they are often referred to as The Sox, The ChiSox, The South Siders, and The Pale Hose.

The Chicago White Sox were not always known by this name, which was given to the team in 1904. Prior to this year, they were known as the White Stockings from 1900 to 1903, the St. Paul Saints from 1895 until 1899, and the Sioux City Cornhuskers in 1894.

AL Pennants were won in 1900, 1901, 1906, 1917, 1919, 1959, a2005 and WL Pennants in 1894. Central Division titles were won in 2000, 2005, and 2008 and West Division titles in 1983 and 1993.
