The Minnesota Twins are an American professional baseball team with their home based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Minnesota Twins got their start as the Washington Senators in 1901 with their name changed to the Washington Nationals in 1905 based out of Washington DC. The name Nationals was only seen on the uniforms for two seasons and then was replaced with the W logo for the following 52 years. 1960 brought all kinds of changes for the Washington Nationals. Major League Baseball granted Minneapolis an expansion team in 1960 and Calvin Griffith the owner of the Nationals requested to move his team to Minneapolis and grant Washington the expansion team. The Major League Baseball agrees and the team moved to Bloomington, Minnesota right after the 1960 season. They became the Minnesota Twins in 1961.
The Minnesota Twins have received various titles including five Central Division titles, four West Division titles, six AL Pennants, and three World Series titles in 1924, 1987, and 1991. The owner of the Minnesota Twins is Jim Pohlad, the manger is Ron Gardenhire, and the general manager is Bill Smith.
