However, they came back strongly in the following year to register another championship win (and yet another in 1939-40). So far so good, but suddenly the winning train was derailed and the Rangers failed to win a single championship for more than 40 years. Though they remained a strong team, especially in the 80's, they seemed to struggle badly in the latter half of every season. Many fans attributed their bad run to the ‘curse of the 40s'. Anyhow, the team managed to shake away the curse in the 93-94 season and ended a successful year with a championship win. In the recent years, the team has completed several successful seasons due to some strategic acquisitions and several talented in-bred players.
