Owl City is an American synthpop musician known as Adam Young. He began making music in the basement of his parent's home in Owatonna, Minnesota. He started a profile on MySpace and soon had a following, which led him signing with Universal Republic.

Young attributes his success to influences such as disco and European electronic music.
Owl City released an EP in 2007, titled Of June and then in 2008 released an album Maybe I'm Dreaming. Both of these albums were released before he signed with Universal Republic. Of June hit the Billboard Charts at #20 and Maybe I'm Dreaming peaked at #16. Adam received popularity from two independent albums but hit a home rum with the 2009 major label debut album Ocean Eyes, which hit the United States Billboard Hot 100 #1 hit single "Fireflies".

Owl City is on a world tour at this time with tickets being sold online for concerts across the globe with the tour ending in May at Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
