Celine Marie Claudette Dion, more popularly known as Celine Dion is a Canadian songwriter, singer, entrepreneur, and actress. She is known to be one of the pillars of music due to her music influenced by several genres such as R&B, classical, pop, rock, and even gospel. Though some of the songs she has released were met by critics, she is pretty well-known for her wide range of vocals and powerful voice. Celine Dion was named as best-selling Canadian artist of all time and was the only female artist who was able to sell two million singles in the United Kingdom alone. Back in 2004, after she was able to surpass the record of having 175 million album sales worldwide, she was given the Chopard Diamond Award at the World Music Awards.
Celine Dion was born on March 30, 1968 in a large family. She first got involved in show business as a teen star whose first record was the result of the mortgage of his then manager and future husband Rene Angelil. In 1990, she was able to make a name not only in Canada but in other countries as well as she released her Anglophone album titled Unison. Her first real break of international popularity, however, came after she won both the 1982 Yamaha World Popular Song Festival and the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest. Since then, Celine Dion performances were valued and sought after, and she released numerous singles and albums, one of which was the very popular official soundtrack of the top grossing film Titanic, ‘My Heart Will Go on’.
Back in 2002, Celine Dion signed to do a performance at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. This February 10, she announced that she is coming back to the popular palace of Las Vegas as she signed another three-year residency in the location. 70 Celine Dion concerts are planned to be done every year which will first start on March 15, 2011.
