Alice Cooper to Lead Star-Studded 2022 Monsters of Rock Cruise

16th May 2021 | Category: Concerts

“The Monsters of Rock” are set to cruise again. Promoter On the Blue’s at-sea concert series will be headlined by Alice Cooper for a 10th-anniversary voyage on Feb. 9-14, 2022, from Miami to ports in the Bahamas’ CocoCay and Haiti’s Labadee.

The slate of more than 35 other artists will take the stage aboard the Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas. This includes Queensryche, Tom Keifer of Cinderella, Skid Row, L.A. Guns, Kix, Winger, Great White, Pat Travers, Y&T, Faster Pussycat and onetime Motley Crue singer John Corabi, among others. Along with the regularly scheduled shows, fans can take part in artist/cruiser Q&A sessions, cooking and painting demonstrations with the stars, beach volleyball and games like “Gong Show Karaoke” and “So You Think You Can Shred.” There will also be theme nights and opportunities to dine with and take photos alongside selected acts.

Cooper’s newest album is a musical homage to his hometown titled “Detroit Stories”. The project, which features all surviving members of the original Alice Cooper band, emerged after he battled with COVID-19 last December. Recently, he has spoken in more detail about the effects of his illness.

“All it really did with me was it knocked me out,” Cooper told Good Day Rochester in a new Blabbermouth interview. “For three weeks, I felt like I went 12 rounds with [boxing legend] Roberto Duran; I was just beat up.”

“And then every day, you feel a little bit better, then you feel a little bit better, feel a little bit better, and after about a month, you start feeling pretty good. And so now I’m a walking antibody.”

Cooper revealed back in February that he had received his vaccination alongside his wife, Sheryl, and urges everyone to do the same.

“We already had Covid but we’re getting vaccinated anyway,” Cooper said. “Everyone out here has been really nice and you don’t feel like you’re in danger of anything. So come on out. If you haven’t been vaccinated, come on out.”

More recently, Cooper headlined his own Coopstock benefit in April at Mesa, Ariz.
