Hamilton: The Hottest Broadway Musical on Tour

15th June 2017 | Category: Theater

For those who haven’t been that lucky to witness the Hamilton sensation so far, the Hamilton national tour gives them the opportunity to watch the show in their own cities. The Broadway’s hottest play could not be seen outside New York and Chicago before the beginning of this tour, and there is no filmed version of it, but it did not prevent Hamilton from becoming a worldwide phenomenon.

More than 100,000 people wanted to watch the musical since the preview plays started on 10 March in San Francisco and all tickets were sold out immediately as predicted. Hamilton will be played in San Francisco till 5 August and then it will move to Los Angeles from 11 August until 30 December. Hurry up to get the tickets here.

Considering the attention this show received on the tour which started in March 2017, this historical musical is set to kick off the second national tour launching in Seattle in February 2018 and is also scheduled for stops in San Diego, Boston, Denver, Portland and more.

Ever since the show’s opening in New York in 2015, this two-act hip hop musical about one of the Founding Fathers and the American Revolution, has won the Pulitzer Prize for drama, won 11 out of 16 record-breaking Tony Awards nominations, as well as seven Drama Desk Awards out of 14 nominated categories. With its non-white cast, it portrays a different, non-conventional picture of founding of America than the history textbooks show.

The music, lyrics and book were written by the Tony award winner Lyn Manuel Miranda. He got his inspiration from Ron Chernow’s 2004 Alexander Hamilton biography he accidentally read at an airport. After only few chapters he decided to bring it to life on stage. He breathed life into this revolutionary tale about taking your shot, speaking your mind and turning the life upside down. Tony Award nominee Thomas Kail directed this musical about George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Eliza Hamilton and lifelong Hamilton friend and foe Aaron Burr. A film adaptation of this show, which achieved both critical acclaim and box office success, is in the works.
