Tedeschi Trucks Band at the Pearl
June 9th isn’t far away, and if a visit to fabulous Las Vegas is within that time frame, a stop at the Pearl Concert Theater in the Palms Casino Resort promises to be a soulful experience. The Tedeschi Trucks Band is swinging into their summer leg of the Wheels of Soul Tour. This Grammy winning eleven piece band delivers fresh soul and blues straight from the hearts of its founders, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi. They will be joined by the parade of soul, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings. A special feature includes the famed guitarist, Doyle Bramhall II. Located just off the Strip in Las Vegas, the Palms Casino Resort caters to a somewhat younger crowd, along with Hollywood celebrities. The Pearl Concert Theater can seat between 1,000 and 2,500 fans, depending on the current configuration suited specifically for each show within the three levels available.
Following the legend of his uncle and founding member of the Allman Brothers Band, Derek has created his own take on blues and roots rock. Along with also being a member of the Brothers, by age twenty he had played with the likes of Bob Dylan, Stephen Stills and Joe Walsh. Derek’s wife, Susan Tedschi, has enjoyed incredible fame in her solo career as a blues guitarist, writer and soul singer. Together, the sky has been the limit.
Sharon Jones lends her thunderous vocals to a horn infused funk and soul band in the musical style of this genre likening memories of the 1960’s. Their shows are guaranteed to have an audience dancing and swaying to their sounds. , Doyle Bramhall II carries on traditional blues guitar and voice in the image of icons Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy. By the age of eighteen, he was recruited by Jimmie Vaughan to play with The Fabulous Thunderbirds.
