Irish singer and song writer, Hozier, is going on tour this Summer across the United States. Hozier, known for his hit single “Take Me To Church”, broke through when his hit single went viral on YouTube. Of six awards he was nominated for in the year 2015, he won two of them – top rock artist and top rock song at the Billboard Music Awards on May 17th, 2015 – where he also performed “Take Me TO Church”.
Hozier was born in Newcastle, County Wicklow in Ireland in 1990 – making him just 25 years old. His debut studio album, self titled as Hozier, was released in his home country of Ireland in September of 2014 and was then released globally shortly after in October of 2014. His album, Hozier, has spent over 33 weeks on the Billboard 200, and has peaked at the second spot overall on the list. His album is currently at the 35th spot.
Hozier is scheduled to come to the United States on June 10th, 2015. His tour will include shows at 30 different venues in many different cities across the United States, including 2 shows in Canada. Performances kick off in Chicago Illinois, at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion on June 10th. The Hozier Tour extends until October 23rd, 2015, saying farewell in Berkeley, California at the Greek Theater at U.C. Berkeley. Although more events and tour dates might be added to the roster since Hozier has said that he plans to spend a lot of time in 2015 and 2016 performing live events, saying he was going to spend as much time as he possibly can putting on shows. Some of his performances will also include other great artists such as Ellie Goulding, Dawes, No Doubt, Lenny Kravitz and Faith No More.
