Genesis Are Reuniting with Last Domino Tour

5th March 2020 | Category: Concerts

The prog rock legendary band Genesis have announced they are returning to the stage together one more time. Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford, will be going on a tour taking place later in 2020.

The tour will include a series of dates across the UK.

The outing begins in Dublin on November 16th. There’ll also be stops in London, Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham, Belfast, Manchester, Glasgow and Newcastle.

Before the official announcement was made, the band had posted a hint on their Instagram page, reading: “And then there were three”.

In 2007, the band celebrated the 40th anniversary of their formation at Charterhouse School in Surrey. That year, with the Turn It On Again tour, Phil Collins bid the band’s final farewell.

However, the band frontman is on board to hit the stage again.

Collins’ 18-year-old son Nicholas will be joining the trio on the drums. His longstanding associate Daryl Stuermer will be on guitar and bass.

Over the years Collins’ health has deteriorated due to nerve damage he sustained in his back while performing. This means he is unable to play the drums to his full ability. It’s also the main reason why his son is accompanying the band on their reunion tour.

Collins commented on his son’s involvement.

“For me it wasn’t a deal breaker, but… it was a problem we had to overcome, with me not playing,” he said. Despite this, he promised he’ll do his best to still play “some bits on the tour.”

Rutherford said: “It feels great, it feels the right time, we’re looking forward to doing it. A lot of our contemporaries have been playing a lot – we’ve done two shows in the UK in the last 28 years.”

Tickets will be on sale on Friday 6th, and you will be able to get them here.
