Every one of us at one point was a child and a number of us grew up with a childhood that consisted of a number of different cartoon characters that not only provided excellent entertainment during our youth but also became a stable for our future. The legacy of Walt Disney is lost on no one and has become a long standing icon for youth and childhood as his dream and vision has impact youths all over the world from different walks of life. The simple joy of a story told with excellent detail and portrayed in stunning display is one to be appreciated, and the legacy of the Disney franchise has superseded all that Mr Walt Disney could possibly have imagined.

The cartoons which once filled us with joy, happiness, sadness and also laughter have hit back over the years, discontent with being confined to the world of animated movies. Ice Skating theatre has only come to fruition within the past 30 to 40 years, with Disney on Ice founded in 1981. Originally known as “Walt Disney’s World on Ice” during the beginning of production, the name was later changed to “Disney on Ice” in 1998 and has remained that way for the continued duration of the production.

Each performance is not only a fantastic display of ice skating ability of the performers abut also a reminder of our history with Disney and the friendship and bond that we formed as a result.
