Steve Lacy Announces ‘Give You the World’ North American 2022 Tour Dates

3rd August 2022 | Category: Concerts

Steve Lacy has announced a North American tour on Tuesday (Aug. 2) in support of his critically acclaimed sophomore album Gemini Rights.

The trek — titled the Give You the World tour — will see Lacy making a total of 27 stops across North America beginning on Oct. 2 at Denver’s Gothic Theatre, and making stops in Chicago, New York, Toronto, Portland, Seattle and more before concluding on Nov. 11 at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.

“It’s time…GIVE YOU THE WORLD TOUR,” the two-time Grammy nominee wrote on Instagram, sharing the tour’s official poster.

The tour news comes on the heels of Lacy’s recent Billboard chart successes. Following the July 15 release of Gemini Rights, the album reached No. 7 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, and went No. 1 on the Top Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums and Top Rock & Alternative Albums charts, as well as No. 3 Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. Meanwhile, the album’s second single, “Bad Habit,” has climbed to No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, earning Lacy his first crossover hit.

Lacy gained recognition as the guitarist of the R&B group The Internet. In 2017, Lacy released his debut EP, a song-series, titled Steve Lacy’s Demo.

His debut album, Apollo XXI, was released in May 2019. The album earned him a nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards.

Along with releasing Gemini Rights, this year, Lacy has made contributions to Brent Faiyaz‘s sophomore album WASTELAND (“Gravity”) also being featured on new Ravyn Lenae album Hypnos (“Skin Tight.”)

In an interview with Vulture, Lacy revealed that his production on Mac Miller‘s 2018 song “Jet Fuel” was originally intended for Kendrick Lamar‘s 2017 album DAMN.

Stevie Nicks is hitting the road again this fall, playing a series of headlining shows and festival gigs.

“Here we go! I’m so excited to be back on the road and can’t wait to see everyone,” Nicks wrote on her Instagram post.

In October, Nicks will play headlining gigs in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Nashville, Charlotte, Tampa, and more. Vanessa Carlton will be a special guest on the majority of dates.

The Fleetwood Mac vocalist canceled her 2021 tour back in August of that year due to rising Covid cases.

In her post, Nicks wrote “these are challenging times with challenging decisions that need to be made.”

“While I am vaccinated, at my age, I am still being extremely cautious and for that reason have decided to skip the last 5 performances I had planned for 2021,” she shared.

In April 2022, Nick’s announced on her Instagram four June concerts in Ridgefield, Washington, Mountain View, California, Salt Lake City, Utah and Noblesville Indiana.

In recent years, Nicks was inducted for a second time into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame – (her first was in 1998 with Fleetwood Mac – and performed during the induction ceremony with Harry Styles in 2019. Nicks also released a concert film called “24 Karat Concert” in October 2020, put out a new song that same year called “Show Them the Way.” She also sang her popular songs at The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in 2022.

Trivium Announce 2022 North American Tour with BTBAM, Whitechapel, and Khemmis

25th July 2022 | Category: Concerts

Trivium have announced the Fall 2022 “Dead Men and Dragons” North American tour in support of their 2021 album In the Court of the Dragon. The stacked tour package also includes Between the Buried and Me, Whitechapel, and Khemmis.

The outing follows Trivium’s September run supporting Iron Maiden and kicks off October 2nd. Dates run through November 10th in Los Angeles.

In the tour press release, the members of Trivium took the rare opportunity to personally comment on each of the support acts on the upcoming tour. Their respective remarks are below.

Frontman Matt Heafy stated,

“Between the Buried and Me are the pioneers of mixing genres well before anyone else had. BTBAM back in 2002 — on the impeccable self-titled album — showed that they were unapologetically ready to mix elements of death metal, melodic death metal, grindcore, power metal, prog, ethereal — at times beautiful — passages of melody. Their self-titled record was a massive influence on me; I was captivated by the immense mixture of so many styles. Through their combining of a vast range of sonics and soundscapes, they created a sound that is truly their own.”

Guitarist Corey Beaulieu noted, “We’re excited to have Whitechapel be a part of this amazing bill. It’s been over 10 years since we toured together on the Shogun tour and seeing how the band has progressed over the years and added a killer melodic element to their brutal sound just makes it a perfect time to share the stage once again.”

Bassist Paulo Gregoletto remarked, “Khemmis is one of my favorite new bands of the last few years, and when we were putting the tour together, I heavily advocated for having them on the bill. I think it’s always a testament to a band’s sound when you have trouble pinning a label to it — doom, melodic metal, thrash, death metal. With Khemmis, it’s all in there and rocks hard. They are a 10/10 live band and did a great cover of ‘Rainbow in the Dark,’ so do not miss their set!”

Paramore Announce North American Tour Dates

18th July 2022 | Category: Concerts

Paramore is getting ready to hit the road later this year. The group announced on Friday that it will be touring North America starting in October.

This is their first such outing in four years. The tour mainly covers the United States plus one stop in Toronto. The tour is scheduled to begin on October 2 in Bakersfield, California, at the Mechanics Bank Theater, and includes stops in Chicago, Atlanta, and Toronto, as well as festival appearances at Austin City Limits and When We Were Young. The North American trek will conclude on November 19 with an appearance at Mexico City’s Corona Capital Festival.

The rock trio’s last studio set was 2017’s After Laughter, and since then Williams has dropped two solo records, 2020’s Petals for Armor and 2021’s Flowers for Vases / Descansos. Meanwhile, the group has focused on being what Williams called “regular friends, without getting the outside world involved.”

Earlier this year, singer Hayley Williams revealed that Paramore were in the studio working on their first album in five years.

They may have expected some rust, but on their very first day reconnecting in a Nashville studio, Williams said, “We wrote and tracked something we loved and it actually surprised us.”

She added, “We kept joking it was all downhill from that point, but thank God we’ve been surprised a lot throughout this whole thing. I’m always waiting for the moment for us to know we’re onto something new and we’re not just rehashing the same shit. It was ‘Ain’t It Fun’ for our self-titled record, and ‘Hard Times’ or ‘Told You So’ for After Laughter. It’s not about it feeling like a hit so much as it’s a scary, exciting feeling that you’re treading uncharted waters. It keeps you curious. We got to feel that feeling early on this time.”

She also promised that the upcoming LP would put “more emphasis back on the guitar.”

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have announced a run of US concerts for 2023.

Next year, The Boss and the full E Street Band will reunite for the first time since 2017 for an extensive world tour. Details of the European leg were revealed back in May.

“After six years, I’m looking forward to seeing our great and loyal fans next year,” Springsteen said in a statement at the time. “And I’m looking forward to once again sharing the stage with the legendary E Street Band.

“See you out there, next year – and beyond!”

The 31 US shows will take place between February 1 and April 14. Scheduled stop-offs include Atlanta, Hollywood, Seattle, Boston, Washington D.C., Detroit, New York and Baltimore.

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band last reconnected to perform on Saturday Night Live in December 2020, where they launched live versions of two songs from their most recent studio album Letter To You, which reached #1 in eleven countries and marked the band’s first time recording live together in decades.

Last year, Springsteen unveiled his never-before-released “The Legendary 1979 No Nukes Concerts” film, collaborated with President Barack Obama on the book ‘Renegades: Born In The USA’ and reprised his record-setting show ‘Springsteen On Broadway’ to help reopen New York City theaters last summer.

Last month saw Bruce Springsteen make a surprise appearance during Paul McCartney’s headline show at Glastonbury 2022. He played his own ‘Glory Days’ and The Beatles’ ‘I Wanna Be Your Man’ alongside Macca.

The E Street Band’s members are: Roy Bittan – piano, synthesizer; Nils Lofgren – guitar, vocals; Patti Scialfa – guitar, vocals; Garry Tallent – bass guitar; Stevie Van Zandt – guitar, vocals; and Max Weinberg – drums; with Soozie Tyrell – violin, guitar, vocals; Jake Clemons – saxophone; and Charlie Giordano – keyboards.
