Lingua Ignota Announces Fall 2022 North American Tour

18th August 2022 | Category: Concerts

Lingua Ignota has announced a Fall 2022 North American tour, the first in support of 2021’s Sinner Get Ready.

The tour, dubbed “Repent Now,” is split into two legs, with the first kicking off November 10th in Austin, Texas, and running through November 18th in Baltimore. The second leg picks up on December 14th in Pittsburgh and wraps up on December 19th in Toronto.

Lingua Ignota, aka Kristin Hayter, will perform two sets each night. According to the press release, each performance “will come in two parts exploring communal catharsis through traditional hymns performed with prepared piano as well as selections from her entire catalogue, with surprises strewn throughout.”

It’s the first time Hayter has hit the road since releasing the acclaimed multi-genre opus Sinner Get Ready last year. It’s also her first outing since her public separation from Daughters frontman Alexis Marshall and her subsequent abuse accusations against Marshall.

She accused Marshall of sexual assault, rape, and “psychologically, emotionally, and sexually” abusing her throughout their relationship. She alleged that during “one incident of objectifying, violent sex”, Marshall had injured her spine and caused a spinal disc herniation, which led to her developing cauda equina syndrome that required surgery. Marshall denied the allegations and is “investigating legal options”.

Show date and time: November 10, 2022 – December 19, 2022

The 1975 Share New Single ‘Happiness’ and North American Tour Dates

5th August 2022 | Category: Concerts

The 1975 have released a new single called ‘Happiness’.

The song is the latest preview of the Manchester group’s fifth album Being Funny In A Foreign Language, which is due to arrive on October 14 via Dirty Hit. It follows on from the recent comeback track ‘Part Of The Band’.

“‘Happiness’ is like… there’s literally loads of us in the room on that track,” frontman Matty Healy told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1.

“[It] really doesn’t really have much structure. It came through like jamming, and we haven’t done that in like years. So we just wanted this record to be really like a captured moment and not be too constructed and even produced that much.”

He continued: “We did it in like a day or so, and it’s us having fun. And I think that there’s this real desire in art to see something remarkable with as little technology as possible. Do you know what I mean?”

Additionally, it’s been confirmed that The 1975 will hit the road for their ‘At Their Very Best’ North American tour in November. The tour includes a headline concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The 1975 are scheduled to make their live return this month, playing two gigs as part of Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival (August 20, 21). The dates will mark the group’s first live shows since they performed in Dublin in March 2020.

Healy recently revealed that the four-piece will return to the UK in early 2023, saying the tour would be an “intimate” experience for fans on these shores.

“I want people to feel like they’re in a little theatre as opposed to an IMAX,” he explained.

The forthcoming record serves as the follow-up to 2020’s Notes On A Conditional Form
