Tool 2012 Concert Tickets
Life filled with contradictions and irony is best described by the songs that speak of these. A person’s life can be both simple and complicated and many more. The only thing that constant in this world is change. If you are a person whose philosophies in life may be similar as the one above, you will probably love the music created and sung by Tool, an American rock band from Los Angeles, California. Tool will be having a concert in select places in the U.S. and Canada so make sure to grab tickets early as it won’t be stagnant for long.
Tool is not your usual hardcore metal rock band. The began with heavy metal on their first studio album Undertow in 1993, followed by an alternative metal movement on their second studio album Ænima in 1996. They experimented a lot on the albums that followed their second, not dwelling with the same music genre every time. They love incorporating art in their music that showed in their third album Lateralus in 2001. This album contained their visual arts, experiments and evolution. Their incorporation of visual arts in their music plus their “complex” releases resulted to their music being described as style-transcending and part progressive rock and art rock. Their most recent album 10,000 Days released in 2006 that showed all these characteristics made the band gain critical acclaim and success worldwide.
Patrick Donovan of The Age described tool as, “Cerebral and visceral, soft and heavy, melodic and abrasive, tender and brutal, familiar and strange, western and eastern, beautiful and ugly, taut yet sprawling and epic, they are a tangle of contradictions.” Tool’s songs are always evolving, making it most awaited by fans. Currently, Justin Chancellor, the bassist of the band said that they are on a hiatus. They are going on tour with other bands to learn new things to incorporate on their fifth studio album, which is still being worked on. The music of the band is so diverse that many critics compared it to popular epic bands such as Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.
The band is unlike mainstream artists with full-fledged music videos that are mostly created for them rather than the songs. They have released nine music videos and they had only appeared on the first two. The band stated that this was made to prevent people from latching onto the personalities involved rather than listening to the music. Tool’s guitarist, Adam Jones, made most of the videos in collaboration with different artists.
Tool has won three Grammy awards, two for Best Metal Performance and one Best Recording Package. Their concerts are set on an unorthodox stage, creatively designed by them.
