There is absolutely no doubt that this new British-Irish boy band has indeed hit it really big that they have conquered the rest of the world. Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis have fans from different parts of the world go crazy even with just hearing their songs or watching their interviews on TV. These boys of the boy-band One Direction have really set the world on fire.

It was through the hit reality TV show the X Factor that these boys came together as a group. Back in 2010, each of these boys auditioned for a spot on the show, but failed. It was through the suggestion of then guest judge Nicole Scherzinger that they be rounded up to form a boy-band to compete in the show’s Group category. They only had a few weeks to get their act together as a group before they were put back out to the stage for the qualifying round.

From then on, the group picked up popularity in the UK, as many of the other finalists on the show were eliminated one-by-one. They finished third in the contest, but they immediately shot to fame after the finals. Their final song on the show had leaked into the Internet and had gone viral since then.

It wasn’t long before they signed their first record deal with Syco Records, a company owned by the X Factor creator, producer and judge Simon Cowell. This record deal changed their lives forever because a few months after that, they were able to sign another record deal, this time in North America with Columbia Records.

Aside from their record deal, they also began touring with other contestants from the X Factor from February to April of last year. At the same time, they recorded their debut album Up All Night. Once their first single “What Makes You Beautiful” was released, it immediately went to number one on the UK Charts and became the most pre-ordered single in Sony Music history. It also topped the Irish Singles Chart and stayed on top for four weeks. They also secured the 28th spot on the US Billboard Charts on their first week release of the song. This has not been achieved by a UK performer since 1998.

Soon enough, One Direction became the talk of the town and the reason why many young girls squeal with delight every time their friends talked about them. They had tours here and there and TV appearances in different TV shows from different countries. Young girls find it hard to contain their emotions when they hear their songs or see even a picture of one of the members. The group also appears to be a worldwide trending topic on the microblogging site Twitter.

Teenagers and even people from different ages flock to their concerts all the time. Their songs are very relatable and that is why a lot of people listen to them and become fans no matter how old they may be. Many of these fans are very eager to watch them on stage and they would most likely pick a fight if it meant getting a ticket to one of their concerts.
