The American heavy metal band Motley Crue recently announced their retirement after 30 years in the music industry, and they will be going out in style this year as they have announced a 70 date tour starting in July. The tour gets underway in Michigan on Wednesday 2nd July with a concert at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, a concert that will be just one of 21 that are performed during July alone! From Grand Rapids in Michigan the tour will visit Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri and Iowa, then trips to Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas will take the band up to Wednesday 16th July, with visits to New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada and Washington bringing the July concerts to an end.
Friday 1st August will see Motley Crue take to the stage at the USANA Amphitheater in Salt Lake City, Utah, then trips to the states of Colorado, Missouri, South Dakota, Iowa, Illinois and Michigan will follow. On Sunday 10th August Motley Crue will be appearing at the Molson Canadian Amphitheater in Toronto, Canada, a venue that will be staging numerous star names throughout 2014. Jack Johnson, Steve Miller Band, Journey, Arcade Fire, Rascal Flatts, Sheryl Crow and Fall Out Boy are just some of the names that will be appearing at one of Canada’s most iconic venues, a venue that can hold in the region of 16,000 paying spectators for music events. On Wednesday 20th August the Farm Bureau Live at Virginia Beach will be playing host to Motley Crue and Alice Cooper, with two visits to New Jersey, three to New York and one to Massachusetts and Pennsylvania bring the August schedule to a close.
During September Motley Crue will be taking a well earned rest before commencing their tour again on Friday 10th October at the Chesapeake Arena in Oklahoma City. Trips to Texas, Louisiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida and South Carolina will follow, with visits to North Carolina, New Jersey, Connecticut and New Jersey bringing the October run of gigs to an end.
November will see the mammoth 70 date tour come to an end, but not before a further 11 concerts have been played out across venues in North America, the first of which will be staged on Wednesday 5th November at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi. The tour will then visit Illinois, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Minnesota and North Dakota, before three concerts in Canada that will bring an end to the career of Motley Crue.
