King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Postpone North American Tour To 2022

2nd June 2021 | Category: Concerts

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have postponed their next North American tour once again. The Australian rockers are now slated to embark on the run in October 2022.

The tour was initially set to take place in the spring of 2020 and then was rescheduled for Fall 2020 before it was pushed to October 2021 due to the pandemic. King Gizzard & Lizard Wizard will bring the run to North America between October 2 – 31, 2022 with support from Leah Senior.

A show featuring a three-hour marathon set at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, California will open the tour on October 2, 2022. Concerts in Vancouver on October 5 and Seattle on October 6 follow before shows with three-hour marathon sets will be held at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on October 10 and 11.

King Gizz continues the tour in St. Paul on October 14. Dates in Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Montreal, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Asheville, and Atlanta come next. The band will end the excursion on Halloween 2022 in Oklahoma City.

“This was an extraordinarily tough decision to make but I hope y’all can understand the complexities that come with a giant tour of the States and Canada with a 6 piece band and a 6 person crew from Australia during a pandemic,” wrote King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. “We’ve tried our hardest to reschedule as many of these shows as possible at the same venues. That means your ticket will still be valid if you want to go.”

The group urges ticket holders who cannot attend the new dates to contact venues for refunds.

A performance scheduled for Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre has been canceled outright. King Gizz’s statement notes a show at a bigger New York City venue will be added to the run

Next month, on June 11, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are releasing their next studio album Butterfly 3000. Earlier in 2021, the Australian band issued L.W.
