His 2005 self-titled album Wide Open has received great support as it was hailed certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) while his 2007 album Relentless was hailed certified gold.

His singles also didn’t miss the spotlight; six of his singles reached number one on the Hot Country Songs chart and eight more have been included in the top ten of the same chart.

One number one single, “Don’t You Wanna Stay” was a duet with Kelly Clarkson. He said, “Kelly has such a distinct voice. She’s got the most soulful voice there is right now. As soon as she opened her mouth and started singing in the studio, it was like, ‘That is what this song is supposed to sound like!’”
