Since it’s almost Christmas time, how do you feel about listening to renditions of Christmas songs presented in a rock opera version? If you have never heard of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, now is the time to take one of their albums and listen to the one-of-a-kind remakes of Paul O’Neill, Jon Oliva, Robert Kinkel and Al Pitrelli. Their music is a mix of neoclassical, symphonic and progressive hard rock and metal.

The group was formed in 1996, with O’Neill bringing together friends to record their own versions of traditional Christmas songs presented in a package that has never been heard before. Now they are bound for a concert tour called Winter Tour, which is aptly entitled due to the Christmas spirit that is tiding over everyone.

The fans of the group is elated about the concert, and you better be having the Trans-Siberian Orchestra tickets on your hands when they go to Omaha and Youngstown on November 3, Charleston and Des Moines on November 4, Springfield and State College on November 5 and Hartford and Peoria on November 6. Other shows are scheduled on later dates; in fact, the TSO is moving from one place to another almost everyday, with more than one location on any given day to cater to the needs of the fans.

You can expect the group to tour around until the end of December, which should give you enough time to watch them in the location nearest you. Just be sure to get your Winter Tour tickets as early as now because if you dally a little bit longer, you might end up missing their spectacular performance that is complete with an elaborate light show that will daze you.

O’Neill is also the person behind rock bands such as Aerosmith, Humble Pie and The Scorpions. He also wrote and produced Savatage with Kinkel and Oliva.
