Coldplay – Mylo Xyloto 2012 Tour

News In Concerts

Another set of Coldplay concerts will be hitting towns! Be serenaded once again with Coldplay’s soulful and heartfelt music. They are not the usual bands you hear out there with too much guitar and strings but enough to ignite the spirits. Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin said that their music is mainly ‘limestone rock’ in comparison to ‘hard rock’. Their music is mostly meditative and blue romantic. He also said that the pieces they make reflect their emotions.

However, they don’t focus solely on that. They experiment on album per album, describing their first studio album Parachutes to be melodic pop with “distorted guitar riffs and swishing percussion” but also being “exquisitely dark and artistically abrasive,” according to a review on this album by allmusic.

The songs of their second studio album A Rush of Blood to the Head are considered to have “lush melodies and heartbreak” but despite that, they have found “newfound confidence.”

Their third album release X&Y, a review said that the music on this one drew inspiration from Martin’s doubts, fears, hopes, and loves.

Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends, their fourth studio album is slowly getting close toward art rock but the band experimented with a vast array of instruments and in the end they infused their music with orchestras, honky-tonk pianos and many more.

Their current album Mylo Xyloto, released last October 24, 2011, settled in Industrial Rock, defined to have more electronic music gear (synthesizers, sequencers, samplers, and drum machines). The album gained generally favorable reviews and the demand was so high that most concert venues sold out in seconds.

According to Miles Leonard, the band’s president at Parlophone, one of the band’s secrets in their wide acclaimed success is that they never sound like a parochial UK artist. To be one is to come strongly ‘British’.  Coldplay does not completely sound British, instead, they sound like a huge global artist.

Attending a Coldplay concert is a must, viewers will cry their heart out listening to their deep music that can easily relate to one’s feelings of sadness and loss and be elated again with songs that speak of moving on, getting past everything and starting anew – filling the listeners with hope. All in all, Coldplay’s music brings the best in everyone and listening to them live is worth every penny.
