Who Doesn’t Love Reba?
When you talk about country music, you can never avoid naming all the legends that made country music what it is now. Of all the musicians who converge in Nashville to follow their dreams of becoming country music stars, there are those who have simply stood out and became the best. One of these people we are talking about is singer, songwriter and producer Reba McEntire.
She began her career as a high school student when she formed a band with her siblings and performed on local radio shows and in rodeos. At a young age, she had already achieved so many things like having performed the National Anthem at the National Rodeo. This performance led to her discovery as a star in the country music scene.
Soon after she was discovered, she signed a contract with Mercury Records and released her first album a year after that. The year was 1977 and she would go on and make many more records under the same label. She moved on to sign with MCA Nashville Records. Her second album with the label was a lot more personal to her because she had more creative control over it. My Kind of Country was released in 1984 and brought her huge success and opened her career for her.
Reba is known to write and sing songs that are close to our hearts; something that we can all relate to. Like traditional country songs, they all tell a story that could have been anyone else’s story and that’s what brings her closer to our hearts. Her hit records were soundtracks to our lives whether we admit it or not. People’s love for her songs have made her a very successful artist with 26 studio albums, 35 number one singles and 28 of her albums have been certified gold, platinum and multi-platinum records.
This love for her expands more than just her songs. When she entered film and television, we loved her even more. Her hit sitcom, Reba, gained her a Golden Globe nomination. Only a few artists can do such feats, but she did it; the Queen of Country did it. That’s why we love her so much.
She was not named Queen of Country for nothing. To this day, she continues to be a best-selling female country artist. Our mothers and fathers loved her and we love her, too. Watching her perform live is not like every other concert that we go to with all the props and costumes. Her performances were always soulful like every one of her songs.
Catch her as she performs her hit songs live on stage. Reba tickets are sold online at prices that are ideal for everyone. Check out her tour dates and venues near your place and never miss out a chance to hear the Queen of Country belt out her timeless songs.
