Robert Plant and Alison Krauss Extend 2022 Tour

14th April 2022 | Category: Concerts

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss have added a West Coast leg to their 2022 international tour in support of their latest covers album, Raise the Roof.

The new string of dates kicks off on August 15th at The Rady Shell in San Diego. It will make stops at venues like the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, and Greek Theatre in Los Angeles before closing out at Austin’s Moody Amphitheater on September 4th.

Raise the Roof served as the follow-up to their 2007 blockbuster covers album, Raising Sand, and is filled with covers of classic blues, country, folk, and soul music originally sung by the likes of Merle Haggard and The Everly Brothers.

When it first came out, Plant said this about the album:

“I just hope people hear it. These days you find out that people you know very well have made records that you didn’t know about. The game has changed so much. But,” he concludes more brightly, “I’m sure that if they hear this, they’ll realize that there’s people still alive in it, that we’re still alive inside the vinyl, chirping away like a couple of little bluebirds.”

The last time Plant and Krauss toured together was in 2009, following their first collaboration, the Grammy-winning Raising Sand. The very long-awaited follow-up to that album, Raise the Roof, also produced by T Bone Burnett, came out in November.

The musicians who will take part in the tour have not yet been announced. Burnett toured as part of the band in the late 2000s, but it’s not known whether he might take up those duties again for this resumption.

Mac DeMarco Announces Fall 2022 US Tour Dates

7th April 2022 | Category: Concerts

Mac DeMarco is heading out on a US tour this fall following a European leg and California run of shows this summer.

The Pepperoni Playboy’s new dates kick off in Phoenix on November 2nd and will hit cities in the South and Midwest including Dallas, New Orleans, Memphis, Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago, and Milwaukee. The tour runs through November, with the final two shows stretching west to Denver on November 25th and Las Vegas on November 27th.

In a statement, the indie star shared:

“I’ve been driving around North America for the last couple months in my Toyota, making five easy hot dogs. I’ve been to a lot of new places, a lot of old ones. Seen a lot of old friends, made some new ones too. Keep your eyes peeled, maybe I’ll pop up in your zone soon.”

DeMarco will be plenty busy this spring and summer. After first opening for The Strokes at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on April 6th, he’ll hit the road for European legs in June and September with a string of California dates sandwiched in between that will showcase his recent Mac’s Record Label signee Vicky’s Farewell. He’ll also be giving a special performance at Seattle’s Day In Day Out Festival to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his Rock and Roll Night Club EP and the album 2 in August.

His most album, Here Comes the Cowboy, was released in 2019.

In October 2021, DeMarco returned to live performances following a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. His return to the stage was marked by changes to his live band, with the departure of longtime members Joe McMurray, Andrew White and Jon Lent, and the addition of Darryl Johns (bass) and JD Beck (drums). Andy White confirmed his departure shortly afterwards stating: “Mac’s an old friend, life is long, and no one knows the future. I’m incredibly stoked to see his new line-up soon as I can. I loved his band before I was in it. I loved playing in it, and I will always look forward to what our bud is putting together in the future.

Tickets for upcoming Mac DeMarco shows are available here.

Machine Gun Kelly Announces Massive US, UK and European ‘Mainstream Sellout’ Tour

28th March 2022 | Category: Concerts

Machine Gun Kelly has announced details of a big world tour behind his new album ‘Mainstream Sellout’.

The rapper-turned-pop-punk star’s new record is following on from a string of collaborative singles – ‘Ay’ with Lil Wayne, ‘Emo Girl’ with Willow Smith, and ‘maybe’ ft. Bring Me The Horizon.

At the start of June, Kelly will begin the North American leg of the ‘Mainstream Sellout’ tour, which will see him supported by Avril Lavigne, Travis Barker, WILLOW, PVRIS and more.

A UK and European tour then begins in September, running through to October and featuring a London date at Wembley Arena.

‘Mainstream Sellout’ was originally due to be called ‘Born With Horns’, but had its name changed earlier this year. Previously, Kelly and the album’s executive producer Travis Barker had both got tattoos of its original title.

The follow-up to 2020’s ‘Tickets To My Downfall’ is set to be “more guitar-heavy” and lyrically “deeper”, MGK said last year.

“Every album is a juxtaposition of the last album. So I went and studied ‘Tickets’, and I heard the bright sound that I had, and for this album I just turned the lights off.”

He continued: “I’m not scared anymore, there’s nothing holding me back from being my true self – and my true self can’t be silenced, can’t be restrained. It’s a force, it’s like a hurricane. Can’t stop that, it just goes until it feels like stopping, and I don’t feel like stopping anytime soon.”

Limp Bizkit Announce North American 2022 Tour Dates

21st March 2022 | Category: Concerts

Limp Bizkit have announced plans for a North American tour next month.

The nu-metal icons’ ‘Still Sucks’ jaunt will take in 19 dates kicking off at the Hard Rock Live in Tampa, Florida, before making their way to Atlantic City, New York, Green Bay, Las Vegas and Reno before wrapping things up on May 31 in Ontario, Canada.

They will be supported by Wargasm, $not, Scowl, Yung Gravy and Dying Wish on the tour.

The new shows come after the band cancelled a series of concerts on their ‘Limited Last Minute Post Pandemic Popup Party Edition’ tour last year “out of an abundance of caution and concern for the safety of the band, crew and, most of all, the fans.”

The US tour comes ahead of their forthcoming UK tour in September. They recently added an extra date at London’s O2 Academy Brixton and a new stop at O2 Academy Birmingham.

Still Sucks dropped on Halloween of 2021, preceded by the single “Dad Vibes.” Along with the new music came a new look for frontman Fred Durst, who sported a gray wig and horseshoe mustache along with “dad” clothes when the band played a few gigs over the summer before postponing the remaining dates over COVID safety concerns.

The new album marked Limp Bizkit’s first LP in 10 years, following 2011’s Gold Cobra. In addition to Durst, the band features fellow original members John Otto (drums), Sam Rivers (bass), Wes Borland (guitar) and DJ Lethal.

Borland provided an album update in June 2021, detailing the struggles with the album:

“We’ve probably, in the last 10 years, been in the studio to try and complete the record, I wanna say, seven times, to different studios. And we’ve been working on stuff, working on stuff, working on stuff. And Fred [Durst] has been consistently kind of unsatisfied with where vision is, I guess…We probably have 35 songs recorded instrumentally, and he’s done vocals on them and then thrown the vocals away — done vocals and then [gone], ‘Fuck this,’ [and] thrown it away. So I think he’s finally at the point now where he’s gonna pick a set of these songs that he’s finally cool with and finish ’em and we’re gonna finish the record. So, fingers crossed.”

Incubus Announce Big US Tour with Sublime With Rome

16th March 2022 | Category: Concerts

Incubus have announced a massive tour across the US this summer where they’ll be joined by guest Sublime With Rome.

The tour kicks off in West Palm Beach, Florida this July, with stops in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, and Salt Lake City.

In addition to Sublime With Rome, The Aquadolls will also be joining the Brandon Boyd and co. on the road.

Incubus’ most recent project was 2020’s ‘Trust Fall (Side B)’ EP, released via ADA Worldwide. Asked about the progress of the band’s next album, the follow-up to 2017’s ‘8’, Boyd told NME he hoped to have something out by spring this year.

“We went out and did some shows and we’re all rehearsed up and ready to play,” said Boyd. “Our intention is to put together a new group of songs, whether it’ll be an EP or an LP, I’m not sure, but we’re hoping to have that done sometime by spring – but there’s a lot of hope in that statement.”

Last October, the band celebrated the 20th anniversary of their seminal album ‘Morning View’ with a livestream concert of the record performed in its entirety at the Malibu beach house it was originally recorded in.

Speaking on the initial decision to record the album in the house on Morning View Drive in Malibu, Boyd talked to NME about the making of the record and how they wanted to get away from the world during the recording process.

“We rented this big, empty house up in Malibu kind of away from everything,” he said.

“We were interested in seeing what would happen if we changed our environment dramatically and set up in a living room together and brought out all of our gear into this house, where it was as distraction free as you could possibly be in that moment.”
