Are you looking for an enjoyable good time? The watching the musical Hello Dolly! may be the best course of action for you. This musical and lyric piece is brought to you by Jerry Herman from the book by Michael Stewart. The book is actually based from The Merchant of Yonkers in 1938 by Thornton Wilder. Later on, this was revised and the title was changed to The Matchmaker in 1955.

The first production of Hello Dolly! was a hit, given that during its first Broadway production in 1964 it has won a Tony Award as the Best Musical. Aside from this, it also bagged nine other Tony awards as well. When it was first introduced it had been inducted in the 2002 Grammy Hall of Fame. Since then the show had been one of the longest running performances in theatre, with many revivals and successes to its name.

In line with its fame, it has also been directed as a movie in 1969. This production added another seven Academy Awards to its name. Nowadays, it is being talked about in the streets of London, and it has even reached the recesses of American shores. For its unique take on love and comedy, it is definitely worth watching.

No one who had ever seen or heard this masterpiece will content to the fact that the story about a widow who tries to come up with partners in the form of matchmaking in her country is definitely worth it.
