Justin Beiber’s first album, “My World” has been a huge success, especially considering the epidemic of weak record sales that have hit the industry, courtesy of, in part, illegal downloading and file sharing. “My World” reached number 6 on the Billboard 200 charts and sold 137,000 copies its first week out. It has since gone Platinum (over 1 million albums sold). His individual tracks have sold more then 3 times that figure.

Insanely popular, listeners warmed up to Bieber immediately, even before his first record dropped. He holds the distinction of being the first artist ever to have four singles reach the Top 40 prior to them releasing their first album.
