Yes, it is finally official the musical festival with none other than the self proclaimed Prince of Darkness is back after a hiatus in 2009.

The first concert will be held at the San Manual Amphitheater on August 14 in Devore California with the last venue being the Comcast Center on August 24 in Mansfield, Massachusetts. Each performance will feature performances from thirteen bands and two stages.

Other announced dates include August 17 in Tinley Park, Illinois at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre; August 19 in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania at the First Niagara Pavilion; August 21 in Hartford, Connecticut at the Comcast Theatre; and on August 22 in Camden, New Jersey at the Susquehanna Bank Center. Public tickets will go on sale on May 22 for all performance dates.

Motley Crue is co-headlining the 2010 summer tour with Ozzy and his band, which is the first time both groups have toured together since 1984.

Frontman for Judas Priest, Rob Halford will perform a full set on the main stage along with DevilDriver and Nonpoint. The second state will be home to Black Label Society along with Kingdom of Sorrow, Skeletonwitch, and Drowning Pool to name a few.

The first Ozzfest debuted in 1996 and toured each year with the last one being in 2007. In 2008, Ozzy Osbourne announced the festival would now be a one-off concert, which would see Metallica co-headlining with Ozzy in Dallas, Texas at the Pizza Hut Park. That one performance saw close to 30,000 fans and brought in almost $3.5 million.

Ozzy let the festival take a break so he would be able to return to the studio in 2009. This break gave us the album, Scream with a release on June 15.
