The Weeknd Announces Phase Two of Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour

With the Phase one of The Weeknd’s Starboy: Legend of the Fall tour coming to its end, the Weeknd has announced the phase two of the tour consisting of 23 more dates.

The phase two of his extensive tour is set to start on 6 September at University Park in Pennsylvania and will continue through North America, New Zealand and Australia until December. This Canadian singer and songwriter, Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, known professionally as The Weeknd, is on his sixth tour to support his album Starboy released in 2016 and will perform 96 concerts in total for which the tickets can be bought right here.

His XO label mate, Nav, will be an opening act for the singer throughout the whole tour, in addition to support from Gucci Mane for all US dates and French Montana joining him in Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

The Weeknd tour started on 17 February in Stockholm and will end in Perth on 14, December.  Bryson Tiller and Lil Uzi Vert joined him for the shows in Europe. He hit most of the major cities in US and Canada in April, May and June with the support of Rae Sremmurd, Belly and 6Lack.

The famous singer is touring in support of his Starboy LP, which debuted at Number One on the Billboard 200 with the third largest opening sales week of any album in 2016. Three of his singles were on the top 20 on the Hot 100.

The Weeknd burst on the music scene like a storm when he uploaded three songs on YouTube in 2010. In the following year, he released nine-track mixtapes and fans began to flock to this new phenomenon calling himself the Weeknd.

Throughout his career, The Weeknd released three studio albums and has won two Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, eight Billboard Music Awards, and nine Juno Awards and has been nominated for one Academy Award.

His main musical inspirations are Michael Jackson, Prince, R. Kelly, 50 cent and Eminem. His songs express feelings of hurt and deal with subjects matter such as sex, drugs and partying featuring slow tempos, rumbling bass and forlorn echoes. Incorporating indie and electronic styles, he is broadening the R&B music palette.
