The Nutcracker – An Amazing Christmas Ballet

10th November 2008 | Category: Theater | Tags:

From Alaska to Texas, you’re not going to find anyone who hasn’t heard of the Nutcracker, one of the most amazing and timeless Christmas stories that has been around for eons.

Based on a book written by ETA Hoffman, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, the music was not just written by Tchaichovsky, but actually commissioned expressly for this spectacle.

The very first showing of the Nutcracker took place in a theater in Russia in 1892, and it hasn’t slowed down since.

The first American Nutcracker was performed by the San Francisco Ballet, and the show has since then become an annual Holiday tradition.

Accompanied by the awe-inspiring scores of Tchaikovsky, the Nutcracker has been filling the dreams of children and adults since its inception so many years ago.

Give the gift of classical music and graceful ballet and a timeless story of Christmas to your family, or to yourself, this holiday season by making it a point to see the Nutcracker when it travels through your area.

The Nutcracker tour will be visiting places from Anchorage Alaska to Buffalo New York to Columbus Ohio.

From Boston to Houston, everyone will have a chance to see the Nutcracker this holiday season with no less than 100 cities on the schedule for this holiday treat.

Katt Williams Arrested

10th November 2008 | Category: Las Vegas,Theater | Tags:

Nobody was laughing at comedian Katt Williams this week after he was arrested on weapons charges in midtown Manhattan. Police say they pulled him over for driving a car without license plates.

The 35-year-old performer was released on bail Thursday just in time to make it for his show at Carnegie Hall. He told the audience that he “just got out of jail.”

Police say a handgun (or two or three according to police) was found in Williams’ car after he was stopped for the alleged traffic violation. Illegal handgun and no license for the car. It remains to be seen whether that merits a slap on the wrist – or a stern look – from the judge?

Last month, Williams did not show up for his gig as host of the BET awards, and the comic also didn’t make it to appear on “Late Night With Conan O’Brien”.. Fame does change folks, doesn’t it..
