Slipknot Move Knotfest Japan Dates to Next Year

21st April 2020 | Category: Concerts

Slipknot had to cancel their Asian tour “in light of global health concerns” back in March. As part of it, the band was to perform at Knotfest event in Tokyo for two dates between March 20 and March 29.

Initially, they have called off the shows because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Now, however, Slipknot have announced they will headline two new dates, on January 10 and January 11, 2021.

Korn and Marilyn Manson will join them as support on January 10, while Anthrax and Babymetal will be appearing on January 11. All the original lineup will perform with the exception of Trivium, due to a scheduling clash.

“For the festival performance, we will cancel only Trivium which can not appear due to the schedule, and there is no change in other artist lineup. Additional artists will be announced at a later date,” the statement read.

“Note the original order of the Day 1 Roadshow date and Day 2 Festival date [have] changed so please make sure you are attending the correct show dates.”

Before they head to Japan, Slipknot are still scheduled to bring their Knotfest concert event brand to the UK later this year.

Recently, BBC released a documentary on the band called Slipknot Unmasked: All Out Life.

The hour-long film, shows the highs and lows of Slipknot’s career, from Grammy Awards and album sales to substance abuse issues and the loss of bassist and songwriter Paul Gray. Moreover, it features an intimate performance from the band, exclusive interview clips, and backstage access.

It was originally made available through an exclusive media player, and now can be watched on YouTube.

Corey Taylor, Slipknot’s frontman, recently spoke with Rock Feed about his thoughts regarding the coronavirus pandemic and its effects on the group.

“No matter what, we are going to finish the tour cycle. We are just trying to make the best of the situation.”

Slipknot is one of the top touring acts. They are touring in support of their ‘We Are Not Your Kind’ album cycle and have major plans for 2020.

You can find more information and tickets for Slipknot’s shows here, though they are subject to changes.
