Phoebe Bridgers Drops a New Song and Announces Livestream ‘World Tour’

23rd May 2020 | Category: Concerts

Phoebe Bridgers has shared a new song off her anticipated second album Punisher, which is scheduled for a release on June 19th via Dead Oceans). The song is called “I See You,” though initially it was titled “ICU,” but she changed it because “*gestures at entire world.*” The indie singer-songwriter has also added that the song is about the breakup with her drummer.

“We dated for a few years, made music every day, and were extremely codependent. We became like family to each other, so our breakup was extremely tough. But if this tells you anything about our relationship, we wrote this song together, just like everything else.”

Bridgers previously released two new songs from Punisher. The first song to be released was “Garden Song”, along with a music video. Next was “Kyoto,” which featured a green-screen music video that came about after Bridgers’ original plans of shooting a video in Japan in March 2020 were ruined by the pandemic.

In addition to new music, Bridgers announced a “world tour,” aka livestreams this month and next from such venues as Phoebe’s kitchen, her bathroom, and her bed. Originally she was supposed to be out on the road with the band The 1975 right now, however, that tour was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The virtual Phoebe Bridgers 2020 “World Tour” will start in her kitchen on May 26th, and will conclude in her bed on June 6th.

Here are some more details on the livestreams:
