Nickelback Announce Las Vegas Residency

9th November 2017 | Category: Concerts

Nickelback have announced a five-night residency at Las Vegas starting February 23.

The band will play dates early next year in support of their new album “Feed the Machine”. Tickets go on sale to the public this Friday, on November 10 while a presale is currently underway and you are just one click away from enjoying your favorite rock band.

The Kick the Machine residency will include shows on February 23, 24 and 27 and on March 2 and 3. Nickelback will take the stage at the city’s The Joint At Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, a place where all rock legends, including Guns N’ Roses, Journey and Motley Crue, took their residency over the years. Fellow Canadian rocker Monster Truck will be joining them as special guests.

Following the release of their prior album “No Fixxed Address” in 2014, they had to cancel majority of the touring dates due to Chad Kroeger surgery on vocal cords. So they were eager to make up for the cancellation to their fans this year and they kicked the road this summer for a 44-date-tour across North America. After wrapping up this extensive tour in support of their latest, ninth album, they’ll post up the five-night Las Vegas residency.

“Feed the Machine” launched in June via BMG and debuted at No.5 on the Billboard 200 album charts with 47,000 units sold which is the lowest showing of their career. Chad Kroeger explained that the album is definitely heavier, as a whole, than the previous records. They have been trying a lot of new things over the years, stretching off in different directions, but with this album they have gone back to their roots and went on with a more aggressive sound.

Billboard ranks them the most successful rock group of the decade of 2000s. They were the second best-selling act in the U.S. just behind The Beatles in 2000. Their biggest hit “How You Remind Me” was listed as the best-selling rock song of the decade.  Since Nickelback is the most commercially successful Canadian group with more than 50 million albums sold worldwide, maybe the fans just need to get used to the new sound.

Tickets for all nights for the residency can be bought here.
