From Broadway To Breakthrough Artist

At the age of 13, Ariana Grande decided she wanted to pursue a life in the music industry as a singer. Her career really began when she played a cheerleader named Charlotte in the Broadway musical 13, which she won a National Youth Theatre Association Award for. Shortly after the Broadway musical had ended, she landed her first big screen role as Cat Valentine in the Nickelodeon television show Victorious. This role helped Ariana Grande achieve a teen idol status, but she had stated that acting is “fun, but music has always been first and foremost with me.”

After three long years in the making, Ariana Grande recorded her last song on her debut album, originally titled Daydreamin, in June 2013. Her album, titled Yours Truly, was released just the next month on August 30, 2013. Only a short week after debuting, her first album blew away other well known artists like Nine Inch Nails’ and Tamar Braxton’s new full-length albums, taking the top spot on the Billboard 200. Yours Truly sold over 138,000 copies during it’s first week, making Ariana Grande the first female artist to achieve her first album debuting at the number one spot on the Billboard 200 since Ke$ha’s album Animal in 2010.

Ariana Grande announced she was doing a second concert tour on September 10, 2014 to support the upcoming release of her second album, calling it The Honeymoon Tour. The tour began February 25, 2015 and will visit 77 venues over a span of nine months. While most of these shows will be in the United States, she does a brief international appearance from April 16th to June 16th. She arrives back in the United States for the second half of her North American tour, with Prince Royce opening the show, at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida on July 16th and her last show for The Honeymoon Tour will be on October 15th, at the El Paso County Coliseum in El Paso, Texas.

There are still tickets available for many of the shows in the second half of The Honeymoon Tour. Find them for a great price online at Ticket Center!
