Boston Calling Changed Line-up Features Special Appearance from Lil Nas X, Betty Who Among Others

10th May 2019 | Category: Concerts

Lil Nas X, the artist behind the “Old Town Road” hit is scheduled to make an appearance at Boston Calling festival.

Other artists have been added to this year’s Boston Calling lineup, namely, Scottish electro-pop act Chvrches, “Heartbreak Dream” singer Betty Who, and Brooklyn indie-rockers Bear Hands.

Tickets for this year’s festival can be found here.

The new lineup came about after it was announced that some of the high-profile artists will not participate in the festival, which takes place from May 24-26 at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston, Massachusetts.

Even though the lineup that was originally announced in January stated that Janelle Monae, Sasha Sloan, Black Star and Young Fathers will perform, these artists have exited the lineup.

Boston Calling’s Friday and Saturday dates were both affected by the exits. Monae and Black Star had been scheduled to perform on Friday, while Sloan and Young Fathers were supposed to play the following day. Now, Chvrches and Bear Hands will be the entertaining the visitors on Friday, while Lil Nas X and Betty Who will appear on Saturday. Snakehips the DJ, who is playing on Sunday will also play an arena set on Saturday.

The festival cited “unforeseen circumstances” regarding Black Star’s exit, and a similar explanation was provided for Monae’s exit in early April, with Monae citing “a scheduling conflict.”

Aside from these artists, the three-day festival will feature headliners Twenty One Pilots, Tame Impala and Travis Scott.
