Black Keys Announce First Tour in Four Years

19th March 2019 | Category: Concerts

The world-renewed garage-rock duo, Black Keys, has returned last week with a single “Lo/Hi”, their first song in five years. This week, frontman Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney announced dates for their long-anticipated Let’s Rock Tour. Tickets for all dates can be found here.

Let’s Rock Tour will be their first North American tour in more than four years. The 31-date track will kick off in Las Vegas on 21 September when a group will headline Life is Beautiful Festival. That will be followed by 30 arena shows including New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Kansas City, Chicago, Minneapolis, Columbus, Nashville and many more, with the final night taking place on 24 November at Vancouver’s Pepsi Live at Rogers Arena.

Their song “Lo/Hi” is their first song in years and the only new music from their last 2014 album Torn Blue. The song was written and produces by the Black Keys members and recorded at Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound studio in Nashville. Although they hadn’t released a new album, both band members were busy in recent years. Auerbach formed the label in 2017 with the release of his second solo album Waiting on a Song. Easy Eye Sound has become home to a wide range of artists including Yola, Shannon & The Clams, Dee White, Sonny Smith and Robert Finley. Carney has produced and recorded new music with many artists including Calvin Johnson, Michelle Branch, Dams of the West, Tobias Jesso Jr., Tennis, Wild Belle, Sad Planets and more. He also created the theme music for the Netflix TV show BoJack Horseman with his late uncle, Ralph Carney.

The duo dropped a surprise single “Li/Ho” on 7 March and they have yet to announce a new album. A special guest Modest Mouse will provide support on all dates and Shannon & The Clams, *repeat repeat and Jessy Wilson will each open selected shows on the tour.

The duo last performed together at 2015 Outside Lands Music &Arts Festival in San Francisco which followed their extensive tour supporting both 2010 album Brothers and 2011 album El Comino. In 2015 they decided to take a break from each other and focus on their own musical projects. But now they are back and a wave of fans are expressing both excitement and gratitude on social media. Hurry up and buy your tickets on time.
