Billie Eilish to Go VR via Oculus Venues

Technology keeps transforming our lives and reshaping experiences.

With virtual reality (VR) already knees deep into all spheres of everyday life, it’s now become a common occurrence to gain access to some of the biggest events in the world – such as sports matches, theatres or concerts – with help from a headset!

Oculus currently holds the torch with its Oculus Venues, a new virtual reality concert experience which kicked off last summer with a performance by Vance Joy, broadcast live from Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.

The latest superstar to headline the VR concert happening, which also featured Lupe Fiasco, Chromeo and Tenacious D, is Billie Eilish. Oculus Venues announced that Eilish’s concert in Madrid, Spain will be available on Oculus Go, Gear VR or Quest headsets on September 03, starting from 9:30 pm ET.

Eilish has been delighted with the news, stating “it’s really nice to be able to have something that makes the show so accessible”.

“It’s great to bring the live experience to people who haven’t been able to be at a show yet. I just want everyone to have a good time. That’s always my only goal, even when you’re watching the show at home,” Eilish said in a statement.

For this particular night in Madrid, Oculus is partnering up with an immersive-streaming company called Supersphere. During the VR concert experience, the users will be able to toggle between solo-viewing and “social sharing” modes, where they will be able to connect with other people with similar interests or Facebook friends.

Eilish is arguably the biggest addition to the Oculus Venues lineup. The fans of this pop superstar can also find tickets for this sensation’s other concerts right here.
