Way back in “The Day” Roger Daltrey<\/strong>, John Entwistle<\/strong>, Peter Townshend<\/strong> and Keith Moon<\/strong> built something that put rock and roll on the charts in a huge way.<\/p>\n

They were renowned for their high energy performances, and are regarded today as one of the greatest and most influential rock and roll bands of all time.<\/p>\n

The New York Times<\/em> says they estimate that The Who<\/strong> have sold more than 100 million records to date, world wide.<\/p>\n

Keith Moon<\/strong> died in 1978, but the band lived on and continued to release albums, including the top five Face Dances<\/em> (1981) with drummer Kenney Jones<\/strong>, before they officially disbanded in 1983.<\/p>\n

The Who has regrouped several times to perform in such special things as Live Aid, and for reunion tours, and began to discuss releasing another album.<\/p>\n

In 2000, the 3 surviving first members of the band began to get serious about discussions on an album of all new material, but the death of John Entwistle<\/strong> in 2002 delayed the idea significantly.<\/p>\n

The idea re-emerged in time and in 2006 a new album, Endless Wire<\/em> was released that hit top tens in both the U.S and the UK.<\/p>\n

Today Pete Townshend<\/strong> and Roger Daltrey<\/strong> continue to perform as The Who<\/strong>. Their concerts are still, for all the years in between, high energy and high style.<\/p>\n

This year The Who<\/strong> hits the tour circuit, playing for Madison Square Garden,<\/a> as well as the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.<\/a><\/p>\n
