However, a press release states that the musician <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cremains an essential and vital part of the band\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Former Gang Of Four bassist Sara Lee has returned to the group in his place.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pajo, who has also performed with Interpol and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, confirmed with <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201ctremendous excitement, humility [and] gratitude\u201d <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">that he would be playing with his<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u201clifelong heroes\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Gang Of Four at next year\u2019s gigs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cPinch-me-I\u2019m-dreaming!\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> he added. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI really cannot even begin to tell you how overjoyed I am to play music with Hugo, Jon, and Sara.. for you! So I\u2019ll stop here. Please come celebrate with us in 2022.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Gang Of Four\u2019s upcoming US tour will draw on material from their \u201977-81\u2019 box set of early material, which came out last December. The collection boasts a double LP of the \u201cnever officially released\u201d \u2018Live at American Indian Center 1980\u2019 as well as remastered versions of \u2018Entertainment!\u2019 (1979) and \u2018Solid Gold\u2019 (1981).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Gang of Four influenced a number of successful alternative rock acts throughout the 1980s and 1990s. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ticketcenter.com\/r-e-m-tickets\">R.E.M<\/a>. frontman Michael Stipe cites Gang of Four as one of his band&#8217;s chief influences; Flea of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ticketcenter.com\/red-hot-chili-peppers-tickets\">Red Hot Chili Peppers<\/a> has stated that Gang of Four were the single most important influence on his band&#8217;s early music.
