On October 17th, the group will kick off another leg at Higher Ground in Burlington, Vermont, and that run will wrap on October 24th at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City, New Jersey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ticketcenter.com\/nicole-atkins-tickets\">Nicole Atkins<\/a> will provide support during all of Spoon\u2019s headlining dates, although the band is also playing a handful of previously announced shows in California in late September with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ticketcenter.com\/st-vincent-tickets\">St. Vincent<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Britt Daniel and company released a greatest-hits compilation, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Everything Hits At Once: The Best of Spoon<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, in 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They have released nine studio albums with the latest one being 2017\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hot Thoughts<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0 It is also the first Spoon album since 2002&#8217;s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Kill the Moonlight<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to not feature multi-instrumentalist Eric Harvey, who quietly left the band after finishing a world tour in support of 2014&#8217;s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They Want My Soul.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hot Thoughts<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> received positive reviews from music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 82, based on 30 reviews.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jillian Mapes of Pitchfork wrote, <em>&#8220;Spoon stay in their well-earned lane but tweak the formula just enough on their ninth album, keeping their reliably great songwriting and adding new, electronic textures.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Last September, frontman Britt Daniel said the group was aiming to release a new record in 2021.
