{"id":31717,"date":"2020-07-17T06:41:13","date_gmt":"2020-07-17T13:41:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ticketcenter.com\/news\/?p=31717"},"modified":"2020-07-17T06:41:13","modified_gmt":"2020-07-17T13:41:13","slug":"bikini-kill-announce-new-tour-dates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ticketcenter.com\/news\/concerts\/bikini-kill-announce-new-tour-dates\/","title":{"rendered":"Bikini Kill Announce New Tour Dates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Rebel Girl\" width=\"860\" height=\"645\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/L0oeqAQ1qE8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bikini Kill have announced the rescheduled dates for their 2020 tour, which had to be postponed due to COVID-19.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The band\u2019s international tour, was supposed to begin this past March, right as the pandemic was taking hold in the United States.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Announcing the cancellation of their US and Canada headline tour, they said:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWe take the health and safety of our supporters, crew and opening bands very seriously, and given the situation in Seattle as well as the lack of information about the actual infection rate of the surrounding areas, it doesn\u2019t make sense for us to go forward with any of the shows in the region.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Their tour will, however, resume in May 2021. The new tour includes nine dates in Europe and the United Kingdom.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cOur 2020 tour dates have been moved to 2021! We\u2019re also adding shows in Brussels, Paris, Glasgow, and London,\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> they wrote on Twitter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After that, the band will be going back to touring North America, starting with a show at Burger Boogaloo festival in Oakland, CA and from there going to Olympia, WA, Victoria, BC,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Portland, OR, Seattle, WA and more. The trek will then stretch through the fall, wrapping November 20th at Iron City in Birmingham, Alabama.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Original tickets will be honored at the rescheduled dates, although refunds will be available for those unable to attend.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">These will be Bikini Kill&#8217;s first full shows since the band broke up in 1997. The feminist punkers reunited for a short tour in 2019, marking their first shows together since the split.
