{"id":31606,"date":"2020-05-14T09:40:35","date_gmt":"2020-05-14T16:40:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ticketcenter.com\/news\/?p=31606"},"modified":"2020-05-15T12:45:29","modified_gmt":"2020-05-15T19:45:29","slug":"the-black-keys-cancel-u-s-tour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ticketcenter.com\/news\/concerts\/the-black-keys-cancel-u-s-tour\/","title":{"rendered":"The Black Keys Cancel U.S. Tour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Black Keys - Lo\/Hi [Official Audio]\" width=\"860\" height=\"645\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JILfwu5AWIQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After canceling their Canadian tour, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ticketcenter.com\/the-black-keys-tickets\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Black Keys<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> decided to call off the US summer tour as well, due to COVID-19.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The American leg of the \u201cLet\u2019s Rock!\u201d tour was initially scheduled to begin on July 7th in Seattle, stopping off in Dallas, Chicago, Detroit, Boston, and more before wrapping up in Jacksonville on September 6th.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWe are very disappointed to let you know the U.S. \u2018Let\u2019s Rock!\u2019 Summer tour is no longer happening,\u201d <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the band wrote in a press statement.<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWe were looking forward to seeing you all out there, but the health and safety of our fans and crew has to take priority. We hope to see you all soon. Please stay safe!\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Black Keys launched \u201cLet\u2019s Rock!\u201d tour in March last year. It was their first North American tour in more than four years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Around the same time, the \u201cLonely Boy\u201d hitmakers dropped their most recent album, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Let\u2019s Rock<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, which came after the 2014\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Turn Blue<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cFour years ago, I definitely wouldn\u2019t have been in a place where I wanted to make a record,\u201d <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">lead singer Dan Auerbach told Rolling Stone in 2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cBut it was less about making the record and more about \u2018We gotta make a record, then tour for two years.\u2019 I\u2019m glad that we took the time to settle our minds and get away from each other for a while. It was really helpful. It made it all better when we got back.\u2009.\u2009.\u2009.\u2009I\u2019m excited to play some shows.
