{"id":31515,"date":"2020-02-04T02:50:41","date_gmt":"2020-02-04T10:50:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ticketcenter.com\/news\/?p=31515"},"modified":"2021-03-28T08:38:17","modified_gmt":"2021-03-28T15:38:17","slug":"my-chemical-romance-adds-new-dates-after-selling-out-tour-in-6-hours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ticketcenter.com\/news\/concerts\/my-chemical-romance-adds-new-dates-after-selling-out-tour-in-6-hours\/","title":{"rendered":"My Chemical Romance Adds New Dates after Selling Out Tour in 6 Hours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"A summoning...\" width=\"860\" height=\"484\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/15-wGHtIOeo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It was last year that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ticketcenter.com\/my-chemical-romance-tickets\">My Chemical Romance<\/a> overjoyed their fans when they announced a reunion show, which would be their first in 7 years.<\/p>\n<p>The gig, which took place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on December 20<sup>th<\/sup>, broke records for the venue as it grossed nearly $1.5 million.<\/p>\n<p>The emo legends have announced North American tour dates on January 29<sup>th<\/sup>, after they\u2019ve posted a 13-minute short film called \u201cA Summoning\u201d, in which a protagonist attempts a ritual to summon the band back together.<\/p>\n<p>The tour kicks off in September 2020 with a show in Detroit Michigan.<\/p>\n<p>From there, MCR will head to St Paul, then Chicago, Toronto, Boston, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Newark and more. In addition, they\u2019ll headline three fall music festivals in Chicago\u2019s Riot Fest, Atlanta\u2019s Music Midtown, and Sacramento\u2019s Aftershock.<\/p>\n<p>Their arena tour throughout North America sold out in six hours with 228,600 tickets sold, so the band added several new dates to the tour, including one in New Jersey and many in California.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the North American leg, MCR will play shows in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany and Russia.<\/p>\n<p>The band revived their blog, with a message from the frontman Gerard Way.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cGearing up to head to Japan \u2013 it has always been a magical place for me,\u201d<\/em> Way wrote. <em>\u201cEvery time I am there, I learn something about the culture and something about myself. I come back home feeling fresh, with a new perspective. The crowds are as spectacular as the beauty of the country.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>My Chemical Romance released their debut album in 2002, and soon after found commercial success with their later albums.
