Green Day<\/a> is an American rock band as most of you probably know, which was originally formed in 1988. The band boasts three core members: Billie Joe Armstrong (guitar, lead vocals), Mike Dirnt (bass) and Tr\u00e9 Cool (drums).<\/p>\n

Green Day<\/a> was originally part of the punk rock scene at 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley, California. Their early record releases were promising and they proved to be more than that.<\/p>\n

Their record release with their first major label became a breakout success in 1994 and ended up selling for them more than 10 million copies in the U.S. alone.<\/p>\n

As a result, Green Day<\/a> was widely credited, along with fellow California punk bands The Offspring and Rancid, with reviving mainstream interest in and popularizing punk rock in the United States.<\/p>\n
