Santana was once one of the largest greatest acts that emerged from San Francisco’s music scene back in the ‘60s.  They enjoyed the major success at the very end of the ‘60s into the very early ‘70s, this amazing band recorded its very own self-titled debut album as well as beginning to tour nationally, making a very important stop within their tour at Woodstock on August 15th in the year 1969.

Their self-titled album “Santana was released this same month of the year 1969.  This album amazingly remained on the charts for a total of two years as well as spawned the Top 10 single “Evil Ways.”  Santana’s second album which was titled “Abraxas” was released in the year of 1970 and turned out to be even more popular than their first album.  This album hit Number one on the enormous popularity of the hits “Oye Como Va” as well as “Black Magic Woman.”

While the band members changed many times over the course of the years, Carlos Santana stayed true as he guided this band through the road of success over the course of a quarter of a century.  In the 1980’s this amazing band was still selling many records including their 1981 album which was titled “Zebop!,” which in fact featured their Top 20 single which was titled “Winning.”

In the year of 1986 Santana actually performed a 20 year anniversary reunion concert that had many of the past band members join in the performance.  This group continued to release new albums, but they did not receive much fan fair until the release of the album “Supernatural” in the year of 1999.  This particular album featured many guest which included stars such as Eric Clapton, Dave Matthews, Wyclef Jean as well as Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty.
