Pet Shop Boys and New Order Join Forces for ‘The Unity Tour’

3rd March 2020 | Category: Concerts

The legendary British acts Pet Shop Boys and New Order will be going on a co-headlining tour across North America. This will happen later in 2020, starting on September 5th, to be more exact.

The first stop on the Unity Tour is Toronto. From there, the bands will be making additional stops throughout October in Boston, Philadelphia, New York, Columbia, Chicago, and more. The tour will reach its conclusion in Los Angeles.

Prior to the tour, the synth-pop duo will be launching their Dreamworld Tour across the UK. This is their first-ever greatest hits tour.

Pet Shop Boys will be supporting their brand new album Hotspot released on January 24th, 2020. The new album reached #1 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic chart. It features a guest appearance by Years & Years on the track ‘Dreamland’.

Back in 2016, the band embarked on their “Super Tour” which visited North America, South America, Europe and Asia. Since forming in 1981, members Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe have sold over 50 million records worldwide.

Meanwhile, New Order just wrapped a residency at the Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami.  They’ve performed a stripped-down version of their special live show “So It Goes.”

Before going the fall tour with Pet Shop Boys, New Order will play a string of shows in Japan and Australia.

New Order frontman Bernard Sumner and Pet Shop Boys have previously worked together on three tracks for Sumner’s super-group Electronic. He formed it in 1988 with ex-Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr.
