After getting recognized in the late 2000’s when front man Adam Young brought his “project” – which everyone currently knows as Owl City – to MySpace, the band quickly rose to fame. Owl City then signed a record deal with the former Universal Republic Records, present day Republic Records, shortly after in 2008. He obtained mainstream popularity once Owl City released their first major album titled “Ocean Eyes” in 2009. Their six time platinum single “Fireflies” is featured on the album Ocean Eyes. Ocean Eyes was certified platinum in the month of April in 2010.

In addition to the albums “All Things Bright and Beautiful” which was released during the month of June in 2011, “The Midsummer Station” released in August of 2012 and the acoustic version of the album that was released in 2013, and their most recent album “Ultraviolet” that was released in the month of June in 2014, Owl City also has recorded many singles for animated movies. Some movies Owl City has recorded songs for include The Croods, The Smurfs 2, Legend of The Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole, and Wreck It Ralph.

Owl City is currently touring around the United States of America in many different states and venues. Since Owl City is a solo project and Adam Young writes, composes, records and produces every song himself, there are supporting musicians that help him perform when he is on tour.
