Harry Styles Upcoming Tour
The forthcoming tour is Styles’ debut concert tour starting 19 September 2017 in San Francisco and consists of 29 concerts in North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania.
The tour is scheduled to end on 8 December in Tokio, Japan but due to overwhelming demand, Harry Styles decided to add no less than 56 new show dates in 2018. The second round of concerts will start in Basel, Switzerland on 11 March 2018 and conclude in Los Angeles, California on 13 July 2018. The tour is supported by many fellow musicians such as Kacey Musgraves, Warpaint, Leon Bridges and special guests from Europe and Australia that will be announced soon.
The tour was officially announced on 28 April 2017 on Styles’ twitter and website. He purposely chose smaller venues for his debut solo run so that fans can enjoy the more intimate performance of music from his new album. Tickets for the first round of the tour went on sale on 5 May and in many venues sold within seconds. You can still get tickets here, but do hurry up before they are all sold out.
Harry was overwhelmed with the popularity and demand of the tour and thus decided to expand it into 2018.
The former member of the boy band One Direction released his first solo single “Sign of the Times” in April and self-titled debut album in May 2017. His album landed at the top of the charts around the world and it topped the Billboard 200 album chart. Harry Styles established a new record for best-selling first week by a UK male artist’s debut album as he sold more than 230,000 albums.
Harry Styles is not only a singer but also a songwriter of his soft-rock songs and he recently told Rolling Stone:
“I didn’t want to write ‘stories.’ I wanted to write my stories, things that happened to me. The No. 1 thing was I wanted to be honest. I hadn’t done that before.”
“I wanted to step up. There were songs I wanted to write and record, and not just have it be ‘Here’s a demo I wrote.’ Every decision I’ve made since I was 16 was made in a democracy. I felt like it was time to make a decision about the future…and maybe I shouldn’t rely on others.”
