Danger Mouse and James Mercer, or to give them their stage name Broken Bells, are all set for their North American tour, a tour that is in support of their recently released album ‘After the Disco’. Thursday 31st July will see Broken Bells performing in Illinois at the House of Blues, with the duo also appearing at the Lollapalooza Festival over the course of the weekend too. Throughout the tour Broken Bells will be joined on stage by Hamilton Leithauser, Phantogram and Austra, though at this stage it is not clear when and where each act will be performing.
The August schedule will commence with a performance at the State Theatre in Minneapolis on Sunday 3rd, with a trip to Canada to follow where three concerts will take place in the space of four days, the first of which has been scheduled for Monday 4th August at the Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg. The Epcor Centre for the Performing Arts in Calgary will stage the second Canadian concert on Wednesday 6th August, with the Francis Winspear Centre in Edmonton staging the third on Thursday 7th August.
On their return to America Broken Bells will play two more concerts before taking a short break, the first of which will take place on Sunday 10th August at the Moore Theatre in Seattle. The final concert of the first part of the tour will take place at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall on Monday 11th August, a venue that will also be playing host to several other notable acts throughout 2014. Steely Dan, Chris Isaak and Counting Crows are just three acts that will be visiting the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall later this year, with The Voice Tour also paying a visit in August too. When the tour resumes in September Broken Bells will be visiting New York to play at the Rumsey Playfield Summerstage in Central Park, with a trip to the state of Pennsylvania pencilled in for the next day and a performance at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia. Concerts follow in Virginia and Tennessee at the end of the month with a trip to Georgia getting the October calendar of events underway on Wednesday 1st.
Concerts follow in Alabama, Texas and Oklahoma during the first week of October, with the state of California staging the final three concerts of the Broken Bells tour at the end of the month. The Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles will stage concerts on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th October, with The Nob Hill Masonic Center in San Francisco staging the tour finale on Tuesday 28th October.
