UFC 146: Junior Dos Santos Vs. Alistair Overeem Tickets

29th March 2012 | Category: Sports

Everyone’s is excited for the upcoming Ultimate Fighting Championship or UFC 146 battle between Alistair Overeem, the challenger who aims to take the heavyweight title from the current title holder Junior Dos Santos. Overeem, who was interviewed by MMAinterviews.tv said that he and his opponent have an evenly matched skill set. He said in the interview that since they are even, it will all come down to strategy and his experience as he had been in more fights compared to heavyweight champion Dos Santos. He said, “I’ve seen more different styles of opponents. So, I do think that experience is on my side. I do feel that I am going into this fight with an advantage. It feels like we’re going to make history.”

Just showing the faceoff a few days ago has pumped up a lot of fans for the big fight and couldn’t wait to see who will rule the ring. With two of the best fighters of UFC, missing this fight would be a sin. Let me tell you a few reasons why this fight is totally worth watching.

Overeem is one of the world’s premier strikers, and according to many, an extremely intelligent Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter. He’s a K-1 Grand Prix champion and can be regarded without doubt as one of the best heavyweight fighters out there. However, the majority of his fights were specifically kick-boxing.

On the opposite corner of the ring there’s Brazilian Dos Santos whose strikes are much nurtured in the world of UFC. His stint in the UFC developed his long jabs, crushing long-range uppercuts and hooks, the opposite of what Overeem uses in K-1 which are short tight strikes. Dos Santos may have the upper hand when it comes to the size and shape of the ring but Overeem, from the Netherlands, knows this and has of course prepared himself for it.

Therefore, it is very difficult to say who will win the fight. It will be a long and close one, with both fighters dancing inside the ring until the very end. The above speculations are just one of the many and what would happen this May couldn’t be easily figured out even by a veteran UFC expert. One thing is for sure, Overeem and Dos Santos would give their fans one hell of a fight.

The fight will take place on the 26th of May and it will be held at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The heavyweight title will be the main event but there would be other fights such as Edson Barboza vs. Evan Dunham, Dan Hardy vs. Duane Ludwig, Shane Del Rosario vs. Gabriel Gonzaga, Frank Mir vs. Cain Velasquez and Roy Nelson vs. Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva. March Madness! NCAA Tournament Ticket Resale

19th March 2012 | Category: Sports

The NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball tournament is one of the biggest sporting events in the United States and in the sport of basketball itself, aside from the obvious strong contender in the NBA League that caters to a professional audience. Despite the NCAA being a college event that does not detract from the importance of the game or the importance of the team to the players as well as the adoring fans. Nowhere else in the world do college sports garner such a large an exuberant gathering than in the United States where some even gather in a complete parade and stage performances. This could dwindle down to the fact that there is such a large population with a varying degree of interests in the country and many of them lie within admiration of human ability.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association incorporates over 1,200 institutions, conferences, organizations and individuals that organise the athletic programs for colleges and universities located within the United States and Canada. It contains 3 division levels to cater to the different and varying skills in players and been in operation for over 100 years, initiated in 1906 before becoming the NCAA in 1910. The association covers a wide range of sporting events and conferences including hockey, football and of course basketball. Out of the large list of supported conferences, Basketball takes the cake as one of the strongest within. As such, the association that has organised so many leagues of different sports also partakes in the organisation of championships and tournaments that gather a significantly large crowd on a regular basis.

Ticket Sales for NCAA events, particularly the Division 1 Men’s Basketball are considered hot necessities in the college world which is seemingly almost fuelled by the success and progression of their sporting teams. Tournament tickets are also divided amongst the fans, allowing only 30% of the general public access whilst the remaining 70% are divided amongst the final four schools with discounts. These divisions include 25% for ID-only student sections, 15% to division 1 institutions and coaches, 10% to host cities, 10% to NCAA committees, 5% to broadcast and corporate partners and the final 5% to NCAA luxury hospitality packages.
Tournaments in particular related to NCAA division one events are sought after and can reach prices of over $200 a piece, with stocks running down faster. Strong performances by teams featured in the event can also boost the sale price of their tickets, where matches between the top two teams (such as Syracuse and Ohio State) fetching an average price of around $441.

There are a number of tournament matches yet to be played within the East and South brackets of the sport and tickets are slowly fading away. Despite the seemingly phenomenal prices, it is without a doubt money worth spent. There is more than just the excitement of the game but rather the electricity of the environment and experience itself. The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament tickets are available at Ticket Center now, but get yours fast, as supply is constantly dropping as they won’t last forever!

Changes in the modern game have also seen the awarding of trophies to the winning team since 2004, where previously it was co-signed to the winning club at the head office of the Lega Nazionale Progessionisti after several weeks from the win. This change allowed for players and fans to enjoy the delights of the final game with the showing and carrying of a tangible trophy onto the pitch!

AC Milan, Inter Milan, Roma and Juventus are just a small selection of the remarkable teams in the league.
