Green Day is an American rock band as most of you probably know, which was originally formed in 1988. The band boasts three core members: Billie Joe Armstrong (guitar, lead vocals), Mike Dirnt (bass) and Tré Cool (drums).

Green Day was originally part of the punk rock scene at 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley, California. Their early record releases were promising and they proved to be more than that.

Their record release with their first major label became a breakout success in 1994 and ended up selling for them more than 10 million copies in the U.S. alone.

As a result, Green Day was widely credited, along with fellow California punk bands The Offspring and Rancid, with reviving mainstream interest in and popularizing punk rock in the United States.

To date Greenday has sold more than sixty million records across the world, including more than 22 million in just the United States along, and have won three Grammy awards, including
Best Alternative Album for Dookie, Best Rock Album for American Idiot, and Record of the Year for “Boulevard of Broken Dreams.”

Greenday, appearing now in their incredible Rock Opera is more than worth seeing. Get your tickets for Greenday now, while you still have the chance to get them.

NBA playoffs: Hawks vs. Heat

5th May 2009 | Category: Sports | Tags: ,

They are missing two of their starters and what’s more they’re playing out on the road, and the history of such things just isn’t all that impressive.

This is the kind of thing that leads to the Hawks fans beating up their television before the game whistle or keeping a fifth of good bourbon hidden behind it to help them numb themselves against the pain.

This year however, it looks like you might not need the mind altering juices to be flowing before tipoff. You just might.. maybe.. be safe. They’ve been fighting the blows all season and now they are a team all grown up.

The Hawks do have a chance to win against Miami and that have that chance this evening in spite of the fact that Al Horford and Marvin Williams may be sitting it out, with an ankle and a wrist injury respectively.

They may have that chance even though they’ve not won a playoff series in the past decade, and they’ve not come out on top in a best of seen in more than thirty years.

Do you know WHY, they have a chance? Smith said it best. They are different now. They didn’t always have a chance but this time, they have toughness and a tenacity that’s going to make the difference in the outcome.

Wait and see. Win or lose, the Hawks aren’t going to let you down.
