U2 – 360° Tour 2009

U2, the Irish rock band who hail from Dublin Ireland are well known for their perfect harmonies, their heavy base and their rebellious attitudes. At least in the beginning.

U2 is made up of Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen, and was formed in the latter part of 19766, when most of the group were teens whose skill at music was somewhat less than proficient. That aside, by the middle of the 1980′s U2 was a solid hit, with the bands passion and drive making up for any lack they may have had at their instrumentation.

Rolling Stone Magazine says that U2 responded to the alternative rock revolution and set teir own style, and prevented their own stagnation by the 91 album entitled Achtung Baby and their Zoo TV tour.

Whatever they have, whatever the reason, aside from their constantly evolving style and skills, U2 remains as popular today as they ever were. Since 2000, U2 has offered us a more conventional, but still fresh approach to rock that is pervaded with their own brand of style and their own constant exploration of their music.

U2, today wildly popular, has sold more than 145 million albums of their music around the world and have won more awards, (22 Grammys) than any other band in business. 2005 saw them inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with good reason and Rolling Stone listes them at number 22 among the greatest musical artists of all time.

U2 the Band, as well as its individual members haven’t stopped at music, but have campaigned for and donated to, human rights causes around the world, including Amnesty International, Data campaign and the ONE.

U2′s music and their passion for it, are a good part of the reason that their concerts continue to sell out. Grab your tickets to see U2 in concert in a city close to you, before you lose your chance to see these history makers in action.

The Jonas Brothers, for those of you who don’t know, are a Grammy nominated boy band who play some of the most popular pop rock in the United States circuits currently.

Three brothers, Kevin, Joe, and Nick, began their rise to stardom with the release of their album, Its About Time in 2006, and then enjoyed a meteoric rocket ride upward, as if they needed it, with a Disney Movie (Hey don’t laugh, Pirates Of the Carribean is a Disney Flick)

Nick, the first to begin his own acting and musical career however, began long before that, with such bits as Chip, in the movie Beauty and the Beast.

A few years later, his brother Joe followed him to Broadway for his own acting debut.

The Jonas Brothers are known for their wholesome, family friendly act and style, but that doesn’t mean the music isn’t good. Quite the contrary in fact, its more than good.

Their acting as well draws rave reviews, with the boys making their film debut in Disney’s Camp Rock, and because of the success of that film, its reported that a sequel is in development. The Jonas Brothers will be making a big screen movie shortly, starring in Walter the Farting Dog; an adaption of the bestselling series which will be a family film.

Kevin, Joe and Nick have been such a success that their earnings have them listed last year as being number nine on the richest pop acts of the year 2008, and state their earnings to be more than 62 million dollars.

2008 also saw more than financial rewards for these hard working boys, as the group was nominated for Best New Artist at the 51st Grammies and win a Breakthrough artists award at the American Music Awards.

Check out the Jonas Brothers in concert, and find out what all the buzz is about.

America’s Favorite Past Time, Major League Baseball is off and Running

Everyone loves baseball, and with good reason. The games, unlike what you might think, can become highly exciting, and the fans literally go wild at a great play.

Begun more than a century ago, Major League Baseball has risen to become not only the favorite sport of many Americans, but also a lucrative one for the teams owners.

Major League, the highest level possible in professional baseball currently has about thirty teams in play. There are 29 in the United States, while one operates in Canada.
The games usually begin the first week in April run over the summer months with the playoffs being October or once in a while early parts of November.

Major League Baseball games see a following of die hard fans, who will view the games on television, make their way to the ball games even in the worst weather and spend the entire summer living, eating and sleeping baseball.

Every baseball season is made up of about 162 games (with additional games as necessary for tiebreakers.)so you’ve got ample time to get out in the sunshine and watch your favorite game and root your favorite team home to victory, hoping against hope that they make their way to the World Series later in the year.

My personal favorites, and we’ve all got them, don’t we, the long standing favorite teams that we follow through good or for ill, are the Pirates, The DiamondBacks (Arizona) and the Blue Jays (Toronto). I don’t know about you, but I’m not waiting til the last minute to get my tickets and hope the game I want to see isn’t sold out.

Get your tickets at Ticket Center for the Major League Baseball team of your choice.
